ProGen

Our Vision

ProGen is an AI language model that generates new artificial proteins, which function as well as natural proteins. ProGen applies AI successes in language modeling to protein generation, learning rules for generating amino acid sequences in a structurally and functionally viable manner, designing proteins you can actually make in a lab that have useful properties (for example, new antibacterial proteins that don't exist in nature).

The ProGen research demonstrates that we don’t have to rely solely on nature anymore to create useful proteins. We can now generate the ones we need, expanding the space of available proteins for researchers, engineers, and entrepreneurs who will use them to solve some of humankind’s most pressing problems in biology, medicine, and the environment.
